skincare products

I recently went on a shopping spree of skincare products, and of course with trying new products, I found some I love and some, not so much.

That inspired me to write this post, about some of those new products, and some of my old favourites that I tried to find a better replacement for, but couldn’t.

Let’s start Simple.

One of the products I brought the other day was the Simple Invigorating Shower Gel, and I already think it’s brilliant. Usually I go for the shower gels that smell super fruity, but that don’t really do anything for my skin.

This one has a subtle minty scent that’s so refreshing! Plus, after only using it a few times, my skin has started to feel softer already. Simple is one of the only brands I can use every product from without it causing problems, as my skin is so sensitive. And, it’s so cheap! I got this shower gel for £1, so if it’s not for you, at least it’s not a huge loss.

Loco for Cocoa.

After getting my last tattoo, the artist recommended using a cocoa butter moisturiser to help it heal. I decided to go with Palmer’s and I’ve used it every day since! I particularly love how nice and soft my arms now look. I’ve never had overly dry skin, but you can never be too smooth.

I’ve recently been trying out the Cocoa Radiant Lotion from Vaseline. If I had to pick a favourite, I can’t say I can. There wasn’t any issues with it, in fact it feels lovely and smells divine. But I have another bottle of Palmers ready to go, so I’m going to use that first.

When I was in Lanzarote ( onetwo ), I bought an aloe vera set of bath salts and soap.

I’m most definitely a shower person, but when I do have a rare bath, I’ve been pouring in the salts to soak. The water goes a bright green, which makes me love them even more. It feels like I’m bathing in my own enchanted little swamp.

But anyway, I thought it was about time I tried out the soap. It lathers up quickly and smells lovely. I haven’t used it enough yet to make up my mind whether I’ll use it again. Well, I mean, use a similar product. Even if it’s the best thing I’ve ever used, I don’t think I’ll be hopping on a flight to the Canary Islands just for a bar of soap.

A Magical mask?

Oh my god. I’m not usually one for face masks, but this one has changed my life. No, that wasn’t an exaggeration. Okay maybe a little, but I haven’t stopped touching my face since I first used it. My cheeks are so bloody soft.

It’s the Freeman Charcoal and Black Sugar mask. You have to apply the mask to a damp face, leave for 5 minutes, then use warm water to exfoliate. It says you will get instant results, and it’s true. After the first time I used it, my face felt magically smooth. Honestly, I didn’t think it was possible to be that soft. I’ve only used it twice so far but it makes me feel so much fresher, and there’s nothing better than that.

skincare products

Moisturising my face is a very important part of my morning routine.

My go to is the Vital Vitamin Day Cream by Simple, but I thought I’d give Nivea a try. I use the Nivea intensive repair hand cream, and it works miracles! So surely the facial moisturiser would be the same?

Yes, it’s perfect for repairing dry skin! But it feels very thick and greasy on my face which I’m not a fan of. Because of that, now I just pop it on any patches of dry skin that appear to fix those right away. The rest of my face is getting the Simple treatment once again.

So there! That was my experience with trying out some different skincare products.

Have any of you tried one of these products? Let me know what you thought of them, if you did!
