June’s over… But it’s been great, for music and me.
So I made a little playlist of 8 songs I’ve been treating my ears to mostly this month.
Firstly, is the new King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard album the coolest thing to happen in 2017? Yes, it bloody well is! In full, “Murder Of The Universe” tells a mad sci-fi story. “Han-Tyumi, The Confused Cyborg” is just one interesting snippet.
I don’t think there’s been a week since HOMESHAKE released “Fresh Air” that I haven’t listened to it at least once, so it had to go in. The super smooth “Call Me Up” is the perfect introduction if you’re not already familiar with this insane band.
A lot of bands I love have made a comeback recently. Alt-J. Paramore. Turnover. I couldn’t be happier.
The Big Moon have been on repeat a lot again recently, as I got a ticket to see them on tour in September. I’m travelling to Coventry for it but it’s little effort considering how fricking amazing the girls will be.
I had to add this remix of “I Can’t See” by Superfood in at the last minute. It was released at the end of the month, but I think it’s had enough plays to be worthy of being included. The original is great, but the bass and vocals on this version are awesome. It feels so fresh.
Enjoy the playlist!
I hope you like at least one of these tracks. Let me know if you do, or have any recommendations of what I should be listening to next month!
